Visual Arts
Visual Arts provides a vital and sensitive form of self expression.
Both artists and art lovers enthusiastically contribute to the success of the
Visual Arts Department and the annual Darien Art Show. Children and adults enjoy
classes and workshops in several media taught by a professionally recognized
staff. The programs are held in the Darien Art Center's Visual Art Studio which is easily
accessible and an appropriate environment for education and exploration.
Information on fall, winter/spring and summer classes is available at the
Darien Art Center office.
The annual Darien Art Show is the perfect arena for all Darien artists to exhibit their work each spring. Prizes, donated by local merchants and businesses are awarded in a broad range of categories and presented at the opening night reception for participants and Darien Art Center members.
Darien Town Hall Art Exhibits are displayed on a rotating basis by the Darien Arts Center in the halls of town hall.
The Visual Arts Center offers holiday workshops for children, including a popular Nutcracker Workshop. Arts and Crafts birthday parties are available.
The Spring Children's Art Exhibit is an annual event, held at the Darien Public Library in May. Young artists ages 2 to 16 have the opportunity to showcase their work and celebrate at the Opening Reception.
