Dance
The Dance Department’s professional staff offers a wide variety of quality instruction for all ages and levels in what is considered
one of the best dance spaces in Fairfield County. Renovated by the Darien Arts Center, the studio features a resilient hardwood floor, excellent
lighting and an enclosed reception/waiting area. The DDC’s program is one of the largest in Connecticut with over 800 students.
Dance Education starts with the early childhood curriculum designed to share the joy of dance, first and foremost. Introductory classes for ages three through five explore rhythm, music, creative expression and basic coordination skills in addition to teaching dance terms and positions. Technical proficiency is a goal for dance students as they continue their training. Intermediate and advanced-level classes focus on technique but always include opportunities for creative work.
Our objective inthe Dance Department is for all of our students to experience an enriching, learning process that they will carry with them throughout their lives.
